The financial industry is in crisis everywhere, the economy is going down, stock markets are crashing, stock exchanges being closed temporarily etc. etc. People start to talk about going back to basic in their lifestyles, talking about simpler food, simpler transportation, simpler ways of working in all areas of life.

For once I am ahead of the trend (usually I'm about 6 months behind - at least in the fashion trends). Over a year ago I moved from Helsinki to countryside, working remotely from home, growing my own vegetables, berries and fruit. I have also stopped buying stuff that I don't need - being 6 months behind high fashion also helps in this regard ;)

I am even considering selling my motorcycle and scooter. (still hesitating on this one, though).

Downshifting is the talk of the day, and I am very happy that the overpopulated globe is finally getting into sensible mode. Even if it is because of a financial crisis rather than a ecological crisis.
