Smart lights
When driving home from work after dark, there is one spot that always blinds me. It's when the I cross the border between Espoo, Finland's second largest city, and Vihti, my new home, pictured below. The reason is that this is where street lights end and total darkness begins.

According to a video on new generation AFL lights by Opel, the night vision of people over 45 years is only 25% of their day vision. In your 20s it is somewhere around 75%. This is significant, as 82% of all road accidents happen either during night time or under bad weather.
I will happily advertise Opel here, since they have been a pioneer in implementing AFL, the Advanced Forward Lighting system. This smart system features different light systems for when driving in the town (less than 50 km/h), country road (50-100 km/h), and motorway (over 100 km/h and on a straight road). The light changes its brightness, reach, shape and angles. AFL also adapts to bad weather, and has a anti-blinding effect on the left side, so the incoming traffic won't get blinded by you.
Now that the population in most western countries is getting older, these kinds of smart systems should become a default.
