Spring in the country
As you may have noticed I've been slow updating the blog recently, it has been a busy spring in the country house. First, there was water damage, when our old heater broke down and 90 liters of water bursted onto the floor and down to basement. Six weeks without hot water or a floor in the hall was an ordeal, thank goodness for sauna, local indoor swimming pool and showers in Nokia House.
Then, there has been the spring sowing, of course. I've already introduced the tomatoes, which are now properly planted in the green house, together with five different kinds of lettuce, rosemary, paprika and chevril. The green house is also a scene for a heated green thumb competition between me and the spouse, with the space divided into two sections and each taking care of their own area. Last year he was a clear winner with delicious butter beans and sweet corn, but this year I think I have a head start with the pre-grown tomatoes. The winner will be declared in August.

My side ... ... with paprika. The rival side
On the field outside, I've planted red beetroot, radish, parsnip, cauliflower, broccoli, lemon balm, chives, and mint. Potatoes are still waiting to be planted, as I just learned that they need to shoot up some sprout in sunlight before planted in soil. This will probably take place this weekend.
This year I also invested in flowers. I bought different kinds of sunflower seeds, and planted those along the main road. It's a bit far from the house, so I hope that the drivers will understand it's someone's property and do not stop to pick them up. Let's see. Next to the village road, I planted some wild flowers to make the roadside look nice. This is under my watchful eye so those flowers should stay in place.

It’s always nice to see your post with lots of good stuff and nice ideas to enjoy. Thanks for sharing valuable post like this. Cheers! :D
