SF3D OC Gathering Vol. 1

Here's an intriguing underground culture that I knew nothing about: Xtreme Overclockers. One must admire the dedication and enthusiasm that these guys have for trying to break records on CPU clock speed. I hope I don't offend anyone, but I find a strange relation to some other weird sports we have in this country, such as wife carrying, mobile phone/rubber boot throwing, or swamp football. I mean, all these groups obviously take their "sport" very seriously, but with a twist of humor and fun.

This group of guys spent their weekend in Tampere, apparently having a lot of fun with food, drinks, sightseeing and sauna. Amazingly they also had time to break the 7 Gigahertz milestone on an AMD CPU by using liquid helium to cool the CPU under -250 celcius. Reading the discussion board sweeps you right into action. (check out the sauna pic on page 3, priceless)

I am also very impressed with their team logos, so I'll post some of them here for your pleasure.

I wonder if my laptop became faster with this sort of treatment?
